CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION

 

We are very pleased to reopen Naumburg Cathedral permanently for visitors from 15 May 2020. We follow all hygiene and distance regulations for the containment of the corona pandemic. Even church services are possible under certain conditions. Further information.

 

March to October

Monday to Saturday 9 a.m.6 p.m.

Sunday/religious festivals 11 a.m.6 p.m.

November to February

Monday to Saturday 10 a.m.4 p.m.

Sunday/religious festivals 12 noon4 p.m.

Christmas Eve 9 a.m.12 noon

New Year’s Eve 9 a.m.2 p.m.

We recommend allowing at least one hour for your visit. Arriving after 5.30 p.m. (3.30 p.m. in winter) will not allow you sufficient time to view all areas of the Cathedral in a relaxed fashion.

Restrictions

Restrictions on opening hours are possible due to church services, concerts and weddings. 

Services on Sundays and religious festivals
10 a.m.–12 noon 

Maintenance work can also impair the view of individual works of art without prior notice. 

Viewing restrictions are currently in place due to essential restoration work being carried out on the windows in the East Choir. 

We are grateful for your understanding in this.

Further restrictions

At the moment, the Cathedral Cemetery must unfortunately remain closed. We kindly ask for your understanding.

In the course of the restoration measures on the façade of the East Choir, considerable noise and dust will occur on Domplatz from 17 August onwards. We kindly ask for your understanding.

Saturday, 8th August 2020
Due to a wedding ceremony only the Cathedral Garden, the exhibition and the Cathedral Treasury Vault can be visited from 12.45 to 2 p.m. 

Saturday, 29th August 2020
Due to a school enrolment service the Cathedral Church of St Mary and the special exhibition "Uta meets Nina" can only be visited from 12 noon. besichtigt werden. 
The Cathedral itself already can be visited starting 9 a.m.
