Our Opening Hours
Like all other cultural institutions in Germany, we have closed Naumburg Cathedral to visitors since 2 November until probably 31 January 2021. Furthermore, all events planned for the period have been cancelled. However, scholarly enquiries to the archives and libraries will be guaranteed. Church services also take place.
March to October
Monday to Saturday 9 a.m.–6 p.m.
Sunday/religious festivals 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
November to February
Monday to Saturday 10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Sunday/religious festivals 12 noon–4 p.m.
Christmas Eve 9 a.m.–12 noon
New Year’s Eve 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
We recommend allowing at least one hour for your visit. Arriving after 5.30 p.m. (3.30 p.m. in winter) will not allow you sufficient time to view all areas of the Cathedral in a relaxed fashion.
Restrictions on opening hours are possible due to church services, concerts and weddings.
Services on Sundays and religious festivals
10 a.m.–12 noon
Maintenance work can also impair the view of individual works of art without prior notice.
Viewing restrictions are currently in place due to essential restoration work being carried out on the windows in the East Choir.
We are grateful for your understanding in this.
No further restrictions
