The Cathedral Garden
Arranged over almost a full hectare, the Cathedral Garden offers a space to escape the hustle and bustle for a while. Between the historic walls and bastions, idyllic ponds and the full bloom of nature encourage visitors to pause, reflect and dream.
Part of the wooded park area is known as the “Naumburg Master’s Garden”. Indigenous plants from the Saale-Unstrut region flourish here. They served as templates for the sculptural architect of the West Choir, donor statues and West Choir Screens in the 13th century who created the approximately 200 botanically-accurate foliate filigrees on the capitals, friezes and cap stones. Take some time and enjoy a true garden dream!
