Naumburg Cathedral

The historic Bishop’s Curia, together with the World Heritage Centre at Naumburg Cathedral, is set to become a vibrant hub for history, culture and community.

The new stained-glass windows, designed by Prof. Markus Lüpertz, were officially unveiled in the east choir of Naumburg Cathedral.

On Friday, 30 January, the preview of the documentary „Triegel meets Cranach - Painting in the Conflict of Times“ will take place at the Cineplex Naumburg before the film is released in cinemas across Germany from 5 February 2026.

In an effort to make the liturgical function of Naumburg Cathedral even more recognisable and at the same time raise the artistic standards in the cathedral to a new level, new paraments were created for the World Heritage Site.
