Our Opening Hours

Naumburg Cathedral will reopen to visitors from 1 June 2021. The requirement for this is that the incidence of the Burgenlandkreis remains below 100. The cathedral shop will also reopen and visitors can visit the cathedral archives and the cathedral library. Here, however, a visit can only take place after prior registration and in a fixed time slot.

March to October

Monday to Saturday 9 a.m.- –6 p.m.

Sunday/religious festivals 11 a.m.- –6 p.m.

November to February

Monday to Saturday 10 a.m.- –4 p.m.

Sunday/religious festivals 12 noon- –4 p.m.

Christmas Eve 9 a.m.- –12 noon

New Year’s Eve 9 a.m.- –2 p.m.

We recommend allowing at least one hour for your visit. Arriving after 5.30 p.m. (3.30 p.m. in winter) will not allow you sufficient time to view all areas of the Cathedral in a relaxed fashion.

Restrictions on opening hours are possible due to church services, concerts and weddings.

Services on Sundays and religious festivals
10 a.m.–12 noon

Maintenance work can also impair the view of individual works of art without prior notice.

Viewing restrictions are currently in place due to essential restoration work being carried out on the windows in the East Choir.

We are grateful for your understanding in this.

Further restrictions
