The Thuringian male choir "Ars Musica" from Suhl will perform international a cappella works from three centuries. For this afternoon, the approximately 30 young singers under the direction of Maik Gruchenberg have chosen works by the contemporary Polish composer Piotr Janczak, by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdys, the Armenian Komitas Vardapet as well as pieces of the Romantic period.

The short concert of about forty minutes takes place in a liturgical setting in the style of a vesper order. This allows the special atmosphere of the cathedral to be experienced in combination with the unique and unmistakable sound of the church space.

The Thuringian male choir "Ars Musica" was founded in 1994 by former singers of the boys' choir of the Suhl Philharmonic Orchestra and has since developed into an independent ensemble with national importance and international concert experience. The ensemble is dedicated to the cultivation of traditional male choral singing as well as the performance of contemporary works from the demanding choral literature.
