Expert tour with the cathedral archivist Dr. Matthias Ludwig
Naumburg Cathedral is one of the most famous church buildings in Germany and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2018. But few people know that the neighboring buildings of the Domklausur and the Marienkirche are also part of the World Heritage Site. While St. Mary's Church served for many centuries as a parish church for the inhabitants of the Domfreiheit, the three wings of the Domklausur housed important institutions such as the cathedral school, the cathedral archives and the court house. The guided tour provides exciting insights into the 800-year history of construction and use of the buildings.
