The Chapel of St Giles on the northern side of Naumburg Cathedral is a unique treasure of the “Romanesque Route”. The stone chapel named after St Giles is one of several chapels originally provided for the private use of the cathedral’s canons. It dates back to the early 13th century, more or less coinciding with the start of construction of Naumburg Cathedral. Its clear Romanesque architectural style with its perfectly symmetrical round arches still impresses today. Normally this unique testimony of the Romanesque period can only be visited on request. In a special guided tour we will unlock the Chapel of St Giles for you and explain the architectural style and the still preserved works of art.

Due to the current regulations for the containment of the Corona pandemic, there is unfortunately only a limited number of visitors who are allowed to take part in the tour. In order to be able to trace chains of infection, we ask you to contact us in writing if you want to take part in the guided tour, providing the necessary data (name, first name, address, telephone number).
