The cathedral cemetery reflects the history of Naumburg in its own way. It was laid out as early as the middle of the 16th century, initially for the deceased of the Mariengemeinde of the Domfreiheit. Soon the first high dignitaries of the cathedral chapter were to be found in the cemetery. On a special guided tour of the cemetery grounds, you will learn more about its centuries-old history and visit the unique 13th-century St. John's Chapel dedicated to St. John the Baptist, which was furnished with modern glass art in 2014.

Due to the current regulations for the containment of the Corona pandemic, there is unfortunately only a limited number of visitors who are allowed to take part in the tour. In order to be able to trace chains of infection, we ask you to contact us in writing if you want to take part in the guided tour, providing the necessary data (name, first name, address, telephone number). Please contact our visitor centre.
