The Ägidien Chapel on the north side of Naumburg Cathedral is an exceptional treasure on the "Romanesque Road". Named after St. Ägidius, the stone chapel is one of the originally numerous private chapels of the canons. It was built at the beginning of the 13th century, around the same time as Naumburg Cathedral. Its clear Romanesque architectural style with perfectly symmetrical round arches still impresses today. Normally, this unique testimony of the Romanesque period can only be visited on request. In a special guided tour, we unlock the Ägidienkapelle for you and explain the architectural style and the still preserved works of art.

Please buy a ticket in time via our Online shop or contact us via our visitor centre every Friday at 6.30 pm from the end of June to the end of October.
