"The Scriptures in Hiding" - Guided Tour through Archive and Library
Naumburg Cathedral looks back over nearly 1,000 years of fascinating history. Testimony to this history is provided by the more than 30,000 precious manuscripts and 2,500 deeds in the archive and library. The medieval historian and head of the cathedral chapter archive Matthias Ludwig opens up the artfully refurbished library rooms in the west cloister and reveals the extraordinary stories behind the documents.
The special tour of the archive and library takes place on the first Saturday of every month from April to October. Due to the current regulations to contain the Corona pandemic, there are unfortunately only a limited number of visitors who are allowed to take part in the tour. Please purchase a ticket in good time via our Online shop or contact us via our visitor centre every Friday at 6.30 pm from the end of June to the end of October.
